therion-esoterictattoo:

The World LAShTAL includes:
LA—Naught.
AL—Two.
L is “Justice,” the Kteis fulfilled by the Phallus, “Naught and Two” because the plus and the minus have united in “love under will.”
A is “The Fool,” Naught in Thought (Parzival), Word (Harpocrates), and Action (Bacchus). He is the boundless air, and the wandering Ghost, but with “possibilities.” He is the Naught that the Two have made by “love under will.”
LA thus represents the Ecstasy of Nuit and Hadit conjoined, lost in love, and making themselves Naught thereby. Their child is begotten and conceived, but is in the phase of Naught also, as yet. LA is thus the Universe in that phase, with its potentialities of manifestation.
AL, on the contrary, though it is essentially identical with LA, shows “The Fool” manifested through the Equilibrium of Contraries. The wieght is still nothing, but it is expressed as it were two equal weights in opposite scales. The indicator still points to zero.
ShT is equally 31 with LA and AL, but it expresses the secret nature which operates the Magick or the transmutations.
ShT is the formula of this particular Æon; another æon might have another way of saying 31.
Sh is Fire as T is Force; conjoined they express Ra-Hoor-Khuit.
“The Angel"3 represents the Stèle 666, showing the Gods of the Æon, while “Strength” is a picture of Babalon and the Beast, the earthly emissaries of those Gods.
ShT is the dynamic equivalent of LA and AL. Sh shows the Word of the Law, being triple, as 93 is thrice 31. T shows the formula of Magic declared in that Word; the Lion, the Serpent, the Sun, Courage and Sexual Love are all indicated by the card.
In LA note that Saturn or Satan is exalted in the House of Venus or Astarté and it is an airy sign. Thus L is Father-Mother, Two and Naught, and the Spirit (Holy Ghost) of their Love is also Naught. Love is AHBH, 13, which is AChD. Unity, 1, aleph. who is “The Fool” who is Naught, but none the less an individual One, who (as such) is not another, yet unconscious of himself until his Oneness expresses itself as a duality.
Any impression or idea is unknowable in itself. It can mean nothing until brought into relation with other things. The first step is to distinguish one thought from another; this is the condition of recognizing it. To define it, we must perceive its orientation to all our other ideas. The extent of our knowledge of any one thing varies therefore with the number of ideas with which we can compare it. Every new fact not only adds itself to our universe, but increases the value of what we already possess.
In AL this “The” or “God” arranges for “Countenance to behold countenance,“4 by establishing itself as an equilibrium, A the One-Naught conceived as L the Two-Naught. This L is the Son-Daughter Horus-Harpocrates just as the other L was the Father-Mother Set-Isis. Here then is Tetragrammaton once more, but expressed in identical equations in which every term is perfect in itself as a mode of Naught.
ShT supplies the last element; making the Word of either five or six letters, according as we regard ShT as one letter or two. Thus the Word affirms the Great Work accomplished: 5○=6□.
ShT is moreover a necessary resolution of the apparent opposition of LA and AL; for one could hardly pass to the other without the catalytic action of a third identical expression whose function should be to transmute them. Such a term must be in itself a mode of Naught, and its nature cannot encroach on the perfections of Not-Being, LA, or of Being, AL. It must be purely Nothing-Motion as they are purely Nothing-Matter, so as to create a Matter-in-Motion which is a function of “Something.”
Thus ShT is Motion in its double phase, an inertia compose of two opposite current, and each current is also thus polarized. Sh is Heaven and Earth, T Male and Female; ShT is Spirit and Matter; one is the word of Liberty and Love flashing its Light to restore Life to Earth, the other is the act by which Life claims that Love is Light and Liberty. And these are Two-in-One, the divine letter of Silence-in-Speech whose symbol is the Sun in the Arms of the Moon.5
But Sh and T are alike formulæ of force in action as opposed to entities; they are not states of existence, but modes of motion. They are verbs, not nouns.
Sh is the Holy Spirit as a “tongue of fire” manifest in triplicity, and is the child of Set-Isis as theirlogos or Word uttered by their “Angel.” The card is XX, and 20 is the value of yod (the secret seed of all things, the Virgin, “The Hermit,” Mercury, the Angel or Herald) expressed in full as IVD. Sh is the spiritual congress of Heaven and Earth.
But T is the Holy Spirit in action as a “roaring Lion” or as “the old Serpent” instead of an “Angel of Light.” The twins of Set-Isis, harlot and beast, are busy with that sodomitic and incestuous lust which is the traditional formula for producing demi-gods, as in the cases of Mary and the Dove, Leda and the Swan, etc. The card is XI, the number of Magick AVD: aleph “The Fool” impregnating the woman according to the Word of yod, the Angel of the Lord! His sister has seduced her brother Beast, shaming the Sun with her sin; she has mastered the Lion, and enchanted the Serpent.

Liber Reguli

therion-esoterictattoo:

The title of ninth Sephira, or emanation of the Tree Of Life, is YSVD (Yezod). It is the Sephira of the Lunar magick of Aub, or Ob, the Serpent (whence “obeah”).
The Serpent is a Symbol common to the Yezidi, Voodooists, Tantrics, and Thelemites.
Yezod or Yesod as the secret center of the Yezidi is an apt description of the Sephira wich corresponds to the sexual center in the human body. Yesod means “Foundation”, and the Hadit of the Thelemites, is the Foundation of the World, as Yesod is the foundation of the Tree Of Life.
The accursed God of the South is, then no other than the lord of the reproductive forces typified by the southernmost Sephira-Yesod.
Yesod is attributed to the Moon. not to the Sun. The curious symbolism is explained by the connection of the Serpent or Dragon with the lunar current typified by Babalon- “for he is ever a sun, and she a moon”. The symbolism may be fathomed at the Hindu level of mythology where Shiva (the Indian Seth) is called “the god with the crescent” (i.e the moon) in the Bhagavad Gita. Also, Thoth the Moon-god, was originally the God of Sirius, identical with the Star-God-Seth, before the luni-solar mode of reckoning time supplanted the stellar reckoning.
This is the reason why the inverted pentagram, or pointed towards the south is usually abhorred as a seal of the devil. Is the seal of Satan because it invokes the snake sex, snake Obeah. The osirisian, and Christians, fled from this aspect of existence, and the pentagram of Set, the south, was considered the symbol of impurity and of abomination. It is still the star of Satan for those who consider the use the current of sexual magic as “evil” that is diabolic. Originally there was no moral pollution; it comes from the hands of the followers of the cult of the old Aeon, those represented in myth by God Dying: Adonis, Osiris, Christ, etc

Different Forms of Magick

thewitchescircleamino:

Magick can come in various forms, with various techniques and uses. There is no right or wrong form, just whatever works best for you. You may find you want to use few, many or even all forms you encounter. There’s no limit. The only thing I would say is fear or doubt of your own ability may not provide the best results when working.

I’m going to list some, though I am in no way an expert on all, nor do I know all forms magick takes. But at the very least, I hope this will be an interesting if not useful read.

• Colour Magick – some would say this is one of the simplest forms of magick. It is often used together with others, but can be effective when used alone. Colour can enhance or change moods and emotions, it can be used to represent your goal and even something as simple as dressing your alter in a specific colour can have an effect.

• Herb magic – this can also be used alongside many other forms, for instance with talismans and amulets. The oil from herbs can be used to dress yourself or candles. You can even combine many herbs and oils together to create the desired effect.

• Candle magick – one of the oldest and simplest forms of magick, they can be used in many ways. They can be used to attract or repel, used as an offering, used to form your circle, to represent elements when placed using different colours and locations, or even just to represent the element of fire solely.

• Crystal magick – crystals and stones have their own energies and can be used in many ways. They can be used for protection, healing, enhancement, enchantment, to aid in meditation any many more ways. Even ordinary stones can be charged for use in different ways, an example would be rune stones.

• Knot magick – strangely although this is a simple and versatile form, I’ve found few people know of it. It can be used in weaving, knitting, crocheting, just plain knots or intricate knots. You can use anything that can be made into a knot, whether you choose rope, ribbon, cord, wool, string. At its simplest it’s knots in a cord, but you can make it more intricate with uses of different colours, shapes, changing the pattern in places and even weaving in symbols.

• Representational magick – magick is ever changing and flowing, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to add this or not, but history is important and unfortunately a lot has been lost. Representational magick can now be used to describe what you’re using a tool or ingredient for, an example would be that a purple candle is used to represent spiritual power. But there was a time, if not still, that it was used to describe a form all of it’s own. A good example would be the use of poppets, dolls fashioned by the witch to represent a person. With witch hunting and bad portrayal in media this has come to be seen as a negative practice, when it can be used for many things.

• Symbolic magick – unlike representational magic which would use items, this uses shapes, sigils and symbols. They can be used to represent anything, and while there are many you may know as standard, planetary for example, you yourself are free to create your own. Many years ago when a witch would have to hide their workings, they would even come to develop their own alphabet for their book of shadows.

• Elemental magic – with this magic the elements are called upon to add power to workings. You may find yourself favouring one in particular, and it may not be one that would be traditionally fitting for you. For example I am a Gemini, typically an air sign, but I favour working with fire.

• Talisman, amulet and charm magick – this uses a lot of other forms. There are many uses for them, luck and protection being very well known. They are fashioned as jewellery, carried around in a pouch and can even be made into key chains and phone charms. This form of magic can be as simple as a necklace made with a single stone or as intricate as you like, including symbols, containers for herbs many different stones that compliment each other, use of colour and different metals, even the shape it takes can have an effect.

• Divination magick – divination magick can come in many different forms. From tarot, scrying, crystal balls, palmistry to tea leaves and many more. You may find one works better for obtaining answers than another, it’s not uncommon to find one is more successful for you personally. Most people will think of it as “future telling” thanks to how media has portrayed it, but that is just one aspect of it. You can use it to seek answers, to find things that are lost, and to find information to guide you. You may choose to use to obtain the meaning behind dreams. There are many uses besides seeing the future, and you may find you use divination in a completely different way to others.

☆☆Thank you for reading, and please let me know if there’s any forms you think I should add☆☆

Constructs made by intent, and energy

wolfofantimonyoccultism:

Introduction

In our practice energy is one of, if not the main fundamental construct that allows us to manifest our desires through our intent. Our consciousness, and state of being allows us to mold, and impact the energy around us allowing us to create, and give birth to new entities, consciousnesses, and constructs. This post serves as a list of different forms of creation based on intent, energy, and thought. It will start at the purest form, and work its way down to the more complicated constructs that can exist through the simple use of intent, and energy.

Pure Source Energy

Pure source energy is energy that has not been assigned a purpose besides existing. This energy comes directly from source, and usually becomes a form of programmed energy in some form, or another. This is the only one on this list that is not made by intent, and energy, but much rather is the basis for it.

Programmed Energy

Programmed energy is energy that has had intent, or emotion placed into it, so that it can be used to carry out a goal, or bring that specific energy into a situation. These programmed constructs of energy usually do not have any cognitive function, and are just the pure essence of the intent, or emotion that was placed into them. All forms of energy have some form of programming in them except for pure source energy. Programmed energy takes on the traits, and purpose of the intent, or emotion, and is the most basic form of energy that shows some form of consciousness. There are many different various ways energy can be programmed, or take on some form of programming. These programs can even be rewritten, or transmuted by other energies, or consciousnesses.

Poltergeists

A poltergeist is an entity that is created from non expressed high emotional feelings. These high emotional feelings usually manifest into a poltergeist by accident, and the person who creates them might not even know that they did create one. They are usually accidentally created by practitioners, or people who do not know they have a psychic gift. These entities are usually led by the intention of the high emotions, and are just made up of a high amount of programmed energy. They really don’t have much of a consciousness though, and they just pulled in the direction of the intent that they were created from.

Sigils

Sigils in general are a type of symbol that are filled with a specific intent in order to be charged, and activated. Sigils can be pretty much anything as long as they can be filled with intent, and can be charged, and activated in order to manifest the intent. Sigils are assigned a specific intent, and then are given energy to use in order to further that intent. They are more advanced than simple programmed energy, because they act more as a producer of certain energies. As they are charged they transmute that energy into whatever the intent wants it to be, so that it can be used to fulfill its purpose. As you can see this makes them more like small intricate machines that are created for a certain purpose. In essence there are a lot more like simple servitors, and do not exactly have a complicated consciousness, but you can see the framework for an entity to start to form from the simple framework of a sigil.

How to make a sigil: http://wolfofantimonyoccultism.tumblr.com/post/143044697756/how-to-make-sigils-sigils-are-symbols-that-are

Servitors

Servitors are an entity that is created from the energies, and intentions of a practitioner. They are entities that are commonly used to serve, or perform some form of task for usually the person who creates them. These entities are quite a lot more complicated then just some simple programmed energy, or sigil. These entities are usually given personalities, character traits, spiritual forms, names, housing, and a purpose. These entities usually release their energy in order to perform their purpose, because of this these entities need to take in energy into themselves in order to feed, so that they can continue to exist. They are most of the time subservient to the person who created them, but they do show a level of consciousness, and have even been shown to act upon it and go rogue at times. They are practically the beginning to a new simple entity that has been created simply through programmed energy, and intent. Though these entities usually do not have a lot of free will it has been documented that they can gain more of it, and learn to become self-sufficient.

Tulpas

Tulpas are an entity created primarily through thought alone, and usually do not have housing. They are actually quite a lot like servitors in many ways, but they have been known to have a lot more free will, and are not usually assigned a overarching purpose. These entities usually take very intense focus to create, and are kept alive through feeding, and continuous attention in order to give it energy so that it can continue to exist. They have quite a lot of free will because they usually are not assigned purposes at least not in the same way servitors are. They are more like equal companions, and friends that just happened to be attached to you, and your mind.

Egregores

Egregores are thought forms that are created by the combined collective consciousness of a group of people. These will always form whenever a group comes together to further the same goal, and are like hive minds of energies for a specific group. These egregores still need to be maintained in order to grow more powerful, and to continue on existing separately of the consciousnesses that created it. Egregores are greatly influenced by the group of community members that are a part of it, and it builds its personality, essence, energy, and ideals off what the sum of them are thinking, intending, and releasing into the world. Egregores have pretty much complete free will, because they are not bound, or created in particular really by people. Their ideals, and intend come directly from the collective consciousness of all the people that are in the group, and will influence what they do, look like, and even act like. If these entities are greatly cared for they will eventually become powerful enough to exist without the consciousness, or energies of the group, and can continue on their own without them. Egregores can be created consciously if the group is aware of it, or in most cases will be created unconsciously of the group. Groups that are aware of it, and our magical practitioners of any type will usually create even stronger egregores when they come together, and if the egregores do eventually get strong enough they will take on a complete life of their own.

Godforms

Godforms are very powerful, and free willed entities. they usually evolve from one of the other constructs of programmed energy, and will become a godform when they finally become powerful enough to sustain life on their own. These entities are very independent, and do have their own consciousnesses, personality, character traits, spiritual forms, beliefs, ideals, and morals. Once an entity reaches this state, they don’t need whoever, or whatever created them, and are completely unique, powerful, individuals. They can do whatever they wants to, but they usually hold their dominion over an aspect of something, and are worshipped, and/or fed by people in order to get stronger. They’re practically gods that were created like other types of thought forms but are known for being a lot stronger.

Conclusion

The things that can be created from our consciousnesses, intent, and energies can greatly affect the world around us. Our creations a very powerful even if we do not know it, and we have a responsibility to understand what we are capable of doing. Intent and energy can be a powerful tool if we know how to use it correctly.

magical-diary:

The Magical Diary

“To those who seek reality the Key of Magick is offered, and they
are hereby warned that the key to the treasure-house is no good without
the combination; and the combination is the magical record.

From one
point of view, magical progress actually consists in deciphering one’s
own record.” – From “Magick in Theory and Practice” by Aleister Crowley.

A person’s “Magical Diary” is a record of their exploration of “magical” or “altered” states over a period of time.

In the work cited above, various definitions of Magick are given:

  • “Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will.”
  • “Magick is the method of science and the aim of religion.”
  • “Magick is the Science of understanding oneself and one’s conditions. It is the Art of applying that understanding in action.”

In this context the “Method of Science” or “Scientific Method” is “a body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge”.

Empirical evidence is that acquired by means of the senses, particularly by observation and experimentation. For example, we may observe how white light behaves when it shines through a prism, in which case the evidence comes in to our awareness via our visual system.

A separate experiment might involve plucking different strings on a guitar and recording how the sounds compare to each other. In this case the evidence arrives via our auditory system.

Our senses are subject to errors in perception, such as optical illusions in the case of our visual system. Scientific instruments were developed to magnify human powers of observation, and also translate into perceptible form events that are unobservable by human senses.

Making an observation may affect the process being observed, resulting in a
different outcome than if the process was unobserved. This is called the
observer effect.

Human observations are biased toward confirming the observer’s conscious
and unconscious expectations and view of the world; we “see what we expect to see”. In psychology, this is called confirmation bias.

To help avoid or reduce the impact of “confirmation bias”, an emphasis is put on the careful recording of
observations, the separation of experimental observations from the conclusions
drawn from them, and techniques such as blind or double blind experiments.

In order for a theory to be generally accepted by a practitioner’s peer group, the experimental outcomes used as evidence for the theory must be reproducible.

For example, if it is claimed that the ingestion of cannabis by a human subject causes an alteration in their perception of time (under controlled conditions), then this effect should be reproducible in other subjects under the same experimental conditions.

Note that the discussion above applies both to measurements of physical quantities in the external environment, and internal (subjective) measurements (e.g. time perception).

In “Liber E vel Exercitiorum” (”Book E, or The Book of Exercises”) by Aleister Crowley, the following instructions are given:

  1. It is absolutely necessary that all experiments should be recorded in detail during, or immediately after, their performance.
  2. It is highly important to note the physical and mental condition of the experimenter or experimenters.
  3. The time and place of all experiments must be
noted; also the state of the weather, and generally all conditions which might conceivably have any result upon the experiment either as adjuvants to or causes of the result, or as inhibiting it, or as sources of error.

Another way of thinking about these records is that they are similar to the travel log or journals written by explorers into areas of experience that are not well understood and may be outside the range of “consensus reality”.

In this approach we can think of different states of consciousness as “places”, where these places are not locations in the physical world, but rather a state of being that exhibits certain characteristics.

For example, we can talk about a band or performer taking an audience to a series of emotional states during a live performance, or a film or novel doing the same thing for the person watching or reading those works. These states would be familiar to many people, and would form part of consensus reality.

The states we are concerned with here are not currently part of consensus reality, even though an increasing number of individuals are exploring the regions outside of “Plato’s Cave”.

The records left by these “Psychonauts
(”Soul Navigators”) can help others explore these spaces, especially if
they give concrete instructions on how to reproduce the experience(s).

While the findings noted in your Magical Diary may be helpful to others, the person they benefit the most will be yourself, for the following reasons:

  1. The initial stages of the “Great Work” can be a long hard road, and it can seem at times that you are not making any progress at all. By keeping a record you can see that you are in fact making headway, which can help you to persevere in the journey.
  2. By making it a habit to record your work, you help develop a detached “witnessing” attitude, which can help you process any “negative” material which may arise.
  3. Recording aspects such as the current sign the Sun and Moon are in, the Lunar phase and mansion etc. may suggest patterns and relationships which you may not have been aware of.
  4. Developing a habit of recording the stages of your journey will help develop a stronger ability in “pattern recognition”, which is crucial to better understanding your current position and which path to take next.
  5. Records of personal interactions and behaviour can help you to stop unconscious behaviour patterns which are not helpful to you or others. The first step to journeying towards more positive states is making an accurate assessment of where you currently are.

“The Quest of the Holy Grail, the Search for the Stone of the Philosophers—by
whatever name we choose to call the Great Work—is therefore endless.

Success only opens up new avenues of brilliant possibility.

Yea, verily,
and Amen! the task is tireless and its joys without bounds; for the
whole Universe, and all that in it is, what is it but the infinite
playground of the Crowned and Conquering Child, of the insatiable, the
innocent, the ever-rejoicing Heir of Space and Eternity, whose name is
(WO)MAN?
“ – From “Little Essays Towards Truth” (1938).

magical-diary:

Melek Taus is the androgynous and bi-sexual Peacock Angel (Ruling Spirit) of the Moon, the Kabbalistic Sphere of Yesod, and worshipped by the Yazidis (c.f. “Yesod”).

Since s/he rules the lunar sphere, s/he is prince/ss of the lunar and sublunar spheres.

“The Peacock Angel, as world-ruler, causes both good and bad to befall
individuals, and this ambivalent character is reflected in myths of his
own temporary fall from God’s favour, before his remorseful tears
extinguished the fires of his hellish prison and he was reconciled with
God”.

The sphere of Yesod is associated with imagination, dreams, the “unconscious” and the underworld. The Hebrew word סוד (”Yesod”) means “foundation”. One interpretation of this name is that Imagination is the Foundation on which the Kingdom of the Four Elements and Matter (Malkuth) is built.

Commenting circa 1919 on the first chapter of The Book of the Law (Liber AL vel Legis), Aleister Crowley wrote “Aiwaz
is not as I had supposed a mere formula, like many angelic names, but
is the true most ancient name of the God of the Yezidis, and thus
returns to the highest Antiquity. Our work is therefore historically
authentic, the rediscovery of the Sumerian Tradition”

Asmoday as he appears in the “Stephenson” Ars Goetia, and as a commissioned piece (“The Demon Regent Asmodeus”, 2014).

You can see the Seal (Sigil, Lamen) of the Spirit in both images. The latter places the three heads on a geometric shape, as King Asmoday doth teach the arts of Arithmetic, Geometry and Astronomy.

The ring that Asmodeus holds is the Ring of Virtues, and he governs over 72 legions of inferior spirits.

It is said that he giveth the Helmet of Hades to the aspirant, which doth make one invisible to the other Spirits, so that thou canst retrieve the treasure (Terma) from its hidden location.
