Thomas Karlsson – The Kings of Edom placed on the 11-pointed Star, representing the Qliphoth and their 11 Demonic Rulers, “Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic”, 2009.

Kings of Edom were kings over the land of Edom before any Israelite king had conquered it. Qabalists associated these kings with the  Evil Primordial Worlds and their Lords. According to the Qabalists, Edom was a kingdom, or a world, which consisted solely of the harsh forces of Geburah. The Zohar tells us that Edom means ‘a kingdom of a severity which is not weakened by any pity’. Theancient lords of Edom were 11 in number, and this number is associated with the principle of Evil in the Bible. In the Genesis 30:40-43 we can find their names: Timna, Alva, Jetet, Oholibama, Ela, Pinon, Kenas, Teman, Mibsar, Magdiel and Iram.

In the Qabalah, these names correspond to the Eleven Demon Rulers who govern the Anti-Worlds of the Evil Side. A Qabalistic text on the most important Demons reveals that both the lords and the kings of Edom are associated with certain Demons: Samael, i.e. Satan, is mentioned as a ruler of Edom. There were certain Qabalistic speculations around the conjectures regarding the kings of Edom certain Demonological traditions liked with the thought that they belonged to the Emanations of the Left Side. Among certain Jews during the early Middle Ages the term ‘Kings of Edom’ was used to denote Christianity, which they believed had developed from the Dark Side.

Four Worlds in Kabbalah.

The Four Worlds are the comprehensive categories of Spiritual Realms in Kabbalah in the descending chain of Existence. The concept of “Worlds” denotes the emanation of creative Lifeforce from the Ein Sof Divine Infinite, through progressive, innumerable Tzimtzumim.

Atziluth (אֲצִילוּת), meaning World of Emanation. On this level the light of the Ein Sof (Infinite Divine “Without End”) radiates and is still united with its source. This supernal revelation therefore precludes the Souls and Divine Emanations in Atzilus from sensing their own existence. In Atzilus the 10 Sephiroth emerge in revelation, with Chochma (Wisdom) dominating, all is nullification of Essence to Divinity, not considered created and separate. The last Sephirah Malchut (Kingdom) is the “Divine Speech” of Genesis 1, through which lower Worlds are sustained.

Beri’ah (בְּרִיאָה), meaning World of Creation. On this level is the first concept of Creatio ex Nihilo, however without yet shape or form, as the creations of Beriah sense their own existence, though in nullification of being to Divinity. Beriah is the realm of the “Divine Throne”, denoting the Sephiroth configuration of Atzilus descending into Beriah like a King on a Throne. The Sephirah Binah (Understanding) predominates, Divine intellect. Also called the “Higher Garden of Eden”. The Highest Ranking Angels are in Beriah.

Yetzirah (יְצִירָה), meaning World of Formation. On this level the created being assumes shape and form. The emotional Sephiroth Chesed to Yesod predominate, the souls and angels of Yetzirah worship through Divine emotion and striving, as they sense their distance from the Understanding of Beriah. This ascent and descent channels the Divine vitality down through the Worlds, furthering the Divine purpose. Therefore, in Yetzirah are the main angels, such as Seraphim, denoting their burning consummation in Divine emotion. Also called the “Lower Garden of Eden”.

Assiah (עֲשִׂיָּה), meaning World of Action. On this level the creation is complete, differentiated and particular, due to the concealment and diminution of the Divine vitality. However, it is still on a spiritual level. The angels of Asiyah function on the active level, as the sephirah Malchut (fulfilment in Kingship) predominates. Below spiritual Asiyah is Asiyah Gashmi (“Physical Asiyah”), the final, lowest realm of Existence, our material Universe with all its creations. The last two Sephiroth of Asiyah channel the Lifeforce into Physical Asiyah.

7 Steps to Manifestation

1. VISION – have an idea, image, dream, wish, picture of what you say you want. Having some initial concept or vision.

2. DESIRE – this goes hand in hand with the idea of excitement. The things that you see that you say you want must be accompanied by a strong energy, emotion. That energizes the vision. Pumps energy into it. Emotion = Energy in Motion. Strong, intense all consuming desire for the Manifestation of that reality.

3. BELIEF – you must know, explore, examine within yourself that you have the belief that it is POSSIBLE to manifest this thing. That you DESERVE this thing. Your beliefs are going to allow this thing to be possible. So get in touch with the idea of what you do believe, and find out what you would prefer to believe. Find out where the beliefs you had came from, why you insist (or have insisted) on maintaining them, why they have worked for you, why you are motivated to believe those definitions and determine in your imagination new definitions that are more representative of what you really desire. And then KNOW that those new beliefs are in effect, and that’s the 4th step…

4. ACCEPTANCE – you must totally accept yourself and the new belief as true, without question, without a shadow of a doubt. Just as you accepted the old belief. The first 4 steps are what you call, in effect, the

SET-UP. The last 3 are; Once you have the vision, the desire, the belief + accepted it totally, then you need…

5. The INTENTION – You must intend to manifest it. You can want something but not neccessarily intend it – with your will, with your focus to manifest it. It must be a conscious CHOICE. Not an effort, but a focus. This is also known as your conscious commandment of your reality. After that…

6. ACTION – you must act like you’re already in the state of that reality you want. You must BEHAVE as if the reality already exist in the present. You must do the things you would do in the way you would do them as if the reality already existed for you. You must GROUND all the vision, desire etc. in the actions that you do. So that your BEHAVIOR and YOUR BODY LANGUAGE are different than they used to be, and representative of the reality that you are now focused on. Rather than of the reality you no longer prefer. Because your body language is really telling what you believe you are capable of. And what you really believe exists for you at present. After you have build up that intense cloud of vision, that intense emotional desire, that crystal clear belief, after you have totally accepted that this is true for you, after you have focused your intention and have your actions to reflect it, you…

7. Absolutely, totally DETACH from any outcome at all. Allowance is the last step, you have to LET IT GO. Utterly, utterly!!UNCONDITIONALLY. That’s the power of paradox. You’re using the power of the paradox of the existence of creation. The dark and the light, both sides of the polarity. You have to have, in order to manifest anything, an absolute intensity of what you want – with absolutely NO EXPECTATION that it has to manifest at all. That’s the BALANCE STATE you need to be in for the manifestation to be EFFORTLESS. You have to let it go.

The Trans-Saturnian 3 (Part 3)

The two symbols presented here represent the planet Pluto which was discovered in 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh.

The planet is named after a Greek god named Pluto, who was the ruler of the underworld. ■
Again, notice the three ingredients for a planetary symbol: the elemental cross: the lunar crescent: and the solar circle.

The second symbol for Pluto is simply the first two letters of Pluto (PL) merged into one.

Again, the trans-Saturnian 3 are new discoveries that don’t fit perfectly into astrology, alchemy or Kabbalah. Though some attribute pluto to Kether, the highest sphere on the tree of life synonymous with god and the beginning of the universe.

It’s interesting that Pluto, a god of the underworld, was the name given to the last “planet” in our solar system as it sits on the edge between the light of the sun and the black abyss of space.

I was tempted to delve into the mythologies of the trans-Saturnian gods, however that is out of the scope of decoding symbols and would require an entire book!

The Trans-Saturnian 3 (Part 2)

This is the symbol for Neptune, the 8th planet from the sun that was officially named in 1846.

The planet is named after the Roman god Neptune, the god of the sea.

We can see 2 of the ingredients for a planetary symbol: a cross & a crescent. The two are stylized to create a 3 pronged trident, which is a symbol attributed to the god Neptune hundreds of years before the discovery of the planet.

The Roman Neptune would correspond with the Greek god Poseidon.

Again it is controversial to use Neptune in astrology, Kabbalah or Alchemy, but within Crowley’s book 4 Neptune is associated with Chockmah (the 2nd sphere on the tree of life). Though this doesnt make too much sense since Chockmah’s element is fire, and Neptune is clearly water. Syncretism is rarely orderly.

“The Pentagram signifies the domination of the mind over the Elements, and the demons of Air, the spirits of Fire, the phantoms of Water, and the ghosts of Earth; all are enchained by this sign. Equipped therewith, and suitably disposed, you may then behold the Infinite through the medium of that faculty which is like the soul’s eye, and you will be ministered onto by legions of angels and hosts of fiends…. It follows that, by means of the imagination, demons and spirits can be beheldd, really and in truth; but the imagination of the Adept is diaphanous, whislt that of the crowd is opaque…. The Pentagram is called in Cabbalah the Sign of the Microcosm…. By the Pentagram also is measured the exact proportions of the great and unique Athanor necessary to the confection of the Philosopher’s Stone and to the accomplishment of the [alchemical] Great Work.” – Transcendental Magic: It’s Doctrine and Ritual by Eliphas Levi

Eliphas Levi – Formation of the Soul, “La Clef des Grands Mystères” (The Key to the Great Mysteries), 1861.

A diagram showing the formation of the Soul in Kabbalah. The top three circles represent Neschamah, Ruach and Nephesch. Ruach and Nephesch, influenced by Neschamah, proceeds to Michael, the good Angel of the Soul. From Nephesch, dominating Ruach, it proceeds to Samael, the evil Angel of the Soul. The Tzelem, or image, is double as it reflects both Michael and Samael alike.

The Alchemy Thoth Tarot Spread

tomasorban:

We devised the Alchemy Thoth Tarot Spread primarily for the
purpose of problem solving, though no doubt it has more subtle uses. The
three-card groups allow the Tarot dignities to be used. One advantage of this
layout is its simplicity; it is based on the idea that Rajas (Sulphur, action)
acts upon Tamas (Salt, inertia) to bring about Sattwas (Mercury, wisdom).

image

Alchemical Salt (5 2 8): The inertia that must be overcome; the
problem or any difficulties around the question.

Alchemical Sulphur (6 3 9): Activity; the action that is most likely to be taken by the Querent.

Alchemical Mercury (4 1 7): A synthesis of forces; the solution; that
which will come to pass.

If desired, a card may be chosen and placed in the centre of
the triad before shuffling and laying the other cards, to represent the
Querent.
