Nothing is true, everything is permitted? Nothing is real, everything is possible.
This statement is usually taken at face value as the main ethos of chaos magick. From personal experience, the majority of chaos mages do not actually ascribe to the is way of thinking as universal. It is a way to feel “edgy” and to get yourself in the right state of consciousness to perform magick when you are first starting out. The absurdity of it pushes consciousness past the psychic center and allows the user to shed to their ingrained moralism and logical materialism. It allows the beginner mage to exist in a state of consciousness where magick is always possible. That being said, from personal experience, a better understanding of this main principle would be restated as “nothing is real, everything is possible”. This reinterpretation allows the mage to discover their own, ever negotiable, code of ethics through experience, without being tied down to the moralism of concessious reality. It also sheds the immature edginess of the initial statement. NOTHING IS REAL. Reality is an ever changing flux of chaos for the mage. Through the practice of magick, we cast our will upon the universe and manipulate the probability of chaotic phenomena to fall in our favor. EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. The mage’s understanding of the possibilities of the universe is ever changing. To believe we truly know and understand the workings of this absurd and chaotic existence, is to chain ourselves and our conciousness to a miserable and unchangable demiurgic reality. Our conception of the possibilities of reality is determined only by the unmeasurable variables of our magical experiences.
Signes et Caracteres des Espirits, “Le Dragon Rouge” (Le Grand Grimoire), 1522.
The Grand Grimoire is a black magic grimoire. Different editions date the book to 1521, 1522 or 1421, but it was probably written in the early 19th century. It was authored by someone named Antonia Venitiana del Rabina who supposedly gathered this information from original writings of King Solomon. Also known as “The Red Dragon”, this book contains instructions purported to summon Lucifer or Lucifuge Rofocale, for the purpose of forming a Deal with the Devil. The book is called “Le Veritable Dragon Rouge” (“The True Red Dragon”) in Haiti, where it is revered among many practitioners of Voodoo. It is claimed they were placed under King Solomon’s throne by the Devil to tempt him. The work is divided into two books. The first book contains instructions for summoning a Demon and for the construction of tools with which to force the Demon to do ones bidding. The second book is further divided into two parts: the Sanctum Regnum and Secrets, de L’Art Magique du Grand Grimoire (“Secrets, of the magic art of the Grand Grimoire”). The Sactum Regnum contain instructions for making a pact with the Demon, allowing one to command the Spirit without the tools required in book one, but at greater risk. “Secrets” contains simpler Spells and Rituals one can employ after having performed the Ritual in the first book. Some editions contain a short text between these two parts, Le Secret Magique, où le Grand Art de pouvoir parler aux Morts (“The Magic Secret, or the Grand Art of being able to speaking with the Dead”), dealing with Necromancy.

When we dream, we have out-of-body experiences on the astral plane. Conscious astral projection involves getting into a meditative state, moving your astral body out of your physical body, and traveling around on the astral plane.
Astral Body
Between you as spirit and your physical body there is an intermediate body known as your astral body. It is lighter and more changeable than your physical body. But the astral body has more shape and density than pure spirit. Your astral body may often be recognizable as your human form, but it can also change appearance, shift shapes, and do fun things like moving through walls.
Astral Plane
The world between the physical and spiritual world is known as the astral plane, or the astral. While it is commonly referred to in the singular as the astral plane, there are actually many different levels of the astral, or astral planes. We move through these astral planes in our dreams.
Astral Travel
The astral world is much more fluid than the physical world. Astral travel is not bound by the limitations of time and space. You can visit different dimensions and travel to past or future experiences on the astral. For many people, it is also easier to connect with deceased loved ones on the astral.
Astral planes vary from the ordinary, to the phantasmagorical, to the divine. Defying easy definition, the astral planes intersect with both physical reality and the symbolic realms of the dream world. Astral travel can take you to dimensions beyond your imagination.
Astral Dream Experiences
Your astral body plays a key role in creating new developments which have not yet manifested in your physical life. The astral is like a giant laboratory in which you experiment with your life and your creations.
The astral can also offer great insight, as it allows you to come at things from a different angle. Astral dream experiences allow you to see things from a different perspective than your normal awareness. As a result, astral dreams can be especially useful for working on situations that–for one reason or another–may be difficult to face directly in daily life.
Astral Projection Meditation
Astral projection typically involves getting into a meditative state so you can consciously move your astral body out of your physical body. With practice, astral projection allows you to develop greater awareness of out-of-body and astral experiences.
These are simple directions for an astral meditation that is suitable for beginners…
ASTRAL PROJECTION EXERCISE:
Preparing the Space, Preparing Yourself…
Find a quiet, comfortable place for yourself–where you will not be disturbed. Create a relaxing atmosphere. You may want to light a candle, burn incense, or play some quiet, soothing music in the background. Begin to relax in general. Take some deep breaths and perhaps do some light stretching. Sit upright in a comfortable position with an open posture.
Part I: Aura Meditation
Get yourself centered and grounded by doing the Aura Meditation in How to Meditate. You will also need to repeat this after your astral projection meditation.
Notice how you experience yourself before doing the Astral Projection exercise. Then close your eyes and focus your attention inward…
Part II: Astral Projection Meditation
Be aware of your body. Notice how you experience the density of your physical body. Then be aware of your aura about an arm’s length all the way around your body. Notice how you experience the lightness of your spiritual energy. Then start to open up your awareness of an intermediate body between your physical body and you as spirit. Notice how you experience the vibration of your astral body.
Allow yourself to shift your awareness to your astral body. Be present in your astral body.
Float your astral body up to a corner of the room. Be present in your astral body in that upper corner of the room. From that upper corner of the room, be aware of your physical body down below you, sitting in the chair. Notice how you experience your physical body down below you.
Then float your astral body up through the ceiling and be on the roof of your building. Be aware of your astral body standing on the roof of your building. On the roof, move around a bit in your astral body. Notice how you experience being in your astral body. Be aware of the world around from the roof of your building. Notice how you experience the world from your astral body.
Then bring your astral body down through the roof and be in an upper corner of the room again. From the upper corner of the room, notice your physical body sitting in the chair below you.
Float your astral body above your physical body. Notice what it’s like to be above your physical body. Then gently lower yourself down into your physical body. First be aware of being in your astral body in your physical body. Then allow yourself to shift your awareness to your physical body itself. Allow yourself to come back fully into your physical body.
Part III: Repeat the Aura Meditation
Get yourself centered and grounded by doing the Aura Meditation in How to Meditate. Draw all of your energy back from above you. Feel your feet on the floor. Feel your legs, torso, arms, neck and head. Be aware of your aura an arm’s length around your body. Notice what it’s like to be grounded back in your body.
When you feel ready, take a few deep breaths, gently open your eyes, and slowly begin to move. Notice how you experience yourself after doing the Astral Projection exercise. Give yourself some time to integrate this experience and enjoy being relaxed before moving on to other activities. (Especially after you first start practicing this meditation–you may want to journal your experience, have a cup of tea, or go for a quiet walk.)
If you practice astral meditation on a regular basis, it will become easier to do and your out-of-body experiences will gradually become clearer. – Oakwulf
“The three components of all spells and magick rituals: 1. Set your expectation -Know what you want in as much detail as possible -What might you gain or lose? -What might the world gain or lose? 2. Fill expectation with desire -What will it feel like physically, mentally, and spiritually? -What will it look and sound like? -How will it change you? 3. Transcendence/ merger with the Divine -Explode desire and self with all of your energy”
Samuel Liddel MacGregor Mathers – The Magical Circle of King Solomon, “The Goetia: The Lesser Key of Solomon the King”, 1904.
THE MAGICAL CIRCLE This is the form of the Magical Circle of King Solomon, the which he made that he might preserve himself therein from the malice of the Evil Spirits. This Magical circle is to be made 9 feet across, and the Divine Names are to be written round it, beginning at Ehyeh, and ending at Levanah, Luna.
THE MAGICAL TRIANGLE OF SOLOMON This is the Form of the Magical Triangle, into which Solomon did command the Evil Spirits. It is to be made at 2 feet distance from the Magical Circle and it is 3 feet across. Note that this triangle is to be placed toward that quarter where unto the Spirit belongeth. And the base of the triangle is to be nearest unto the Circle, the apex pointing in the direction of the quarter of the Spirit. Observe thou also the Moon in thy working. Anaphaxeton is sometimes written Anepheneton.
The coiled serpent is only shown in one private codex, the Hebrew names being in most cases simply written round in a somewhat spiral arrangement within the double circle. It is to be remembered that Hebrew is always written from right to left, instead of from left to right like ordinary European languages. The small Maltese crosses are placed to mark the conclusion of each separate set of Hebrew names. These names are those of the Deity Angels and Archangels allotted by the Qabalists to each of the 9 first Sephiroth or Divine Emanations.
In English letters they run thus, beginning from the head of the serpent: ✠ Ehyeh Kether Metatron Chaioth ha-Qadesh Rashith Ha-Galgalim S.M.M. (for “Sphere of the Primum Mobile”) ✠ Iah Chockmah Ratziel Auphanium Masloth S.S.F. (for “Sphere of the Fixed Stars,” or S.Z. for “Sphere of the Zodiac”) ✠ Iehovah Elohim Binah Tzaphquiel Aralim Shabbathai S. (for “Sphere”) of Saturn ✠ El Chesed Tzadquiel Chaschmalim Tzedeq S. of Jupiter ✠ Elohim Gibor Geburah Kamael Seraphim Madim S. of Mars ✠ Iehovah Eloah Va-Daäth Tiphereth Raphaël Malakim Shemesh S. of the Sun ✠ Iehovah Tzabaoth Netzach Haniel Elohim Nogah S. of Venus. ✠ Elohim Tzabaoth Hod Michaël Beni Elohim Kokav S. of Mercury ✠ Shaddaï El Chai Iesod Gabriel Cherubim Leanah S. of the Moon ✠.

“Here next is the talisman and its ring. They have the property of destroying everything, of commanding the elements, of calling down the thunder, hail, the stars, earthquakes, hurricanes, water spouts on land and sea, and of preserving our friends from all accidents. Here are the words which one must pronounce (the numbers indicate each thing which you wish to operate): first, you pronounce: Ditau, Hurandos; second, Ridas Talimol; third, Atrosis, Narpida; fourth, Uusar, Itar; fifth, Hispen, Tromador; sixth, Parenthes, Histanos.”
“[Fig. 6] will enable you to discover the most hidden secrets; you will be able to penetrate everywhere without being seen, and not a single word in the universe can be uttered without it coming to your ears, whether you wish to listen to it yourself or to have brought back to us by your agents when you order them to do so…repeat these words and place the talisman near your ear while you hold the ring tightly in your left hand: Nitrae, Radou, Sunundam.”
Fig. 7 “Place this ring on the little finger of your left hand and hold the talisman to your ear, and the most discreet man will divulge to you his most hidden thoughts. Here are the two words: Noctar, Raiban, and if you add a third word, which is Biranther, your greatest enemies will not be able to prevent themselves from loudly publishing their projects against you.”
The other day I learned one of my friends was being attacked and drained of their energy while they were sleeping. We eventually found out it was an entity from their past that had been antagonizing them most of their life. Me being my protective, don’t fuck with my friend’s self, decided to create my first spell and try to help out!
This spell was made to be casted on someone else but I beg you PLEASE ASK the person you will be casting this on if they are comfortable with you doing this. ____________________
You will need: -Gem’s/Crystals of protection (optional) -Black Candle -Photo of who the spell will be cast on -Clear intention and mind
(Grab a crystal/gemstone of protection and hold it until the spell is complete to add a little more vigor.) Have a picture of your friend in front of you, meditate on them and their energy. As you light the black candle state “I light this candle with intention to send protection.” Look into the flame focusing on your intent and go into a meditative trace. Once in a trace like state, close your eyes and envision a thread connecting you and your friend going from your heart to theirs. See it thrumming with white pulsing energy. Once connection is created and you can feel the energy, say the spell aloud three times. Feed your energy and intent through the thread and connection between you and your friend as you state the spell aloud.
“With this candle I light, May my friend be protected at night. Nothing shall come to harm or hinder, For their dreams will be filled with splendor. By the divine light I command all evil to leave, By these words and this spell all connection to nightmares I cleave!”
Meditate and focus on a bubble encompassing your friend in love, protection and light. Once done close the connection and bring the thread back into yourself leaving love and positivity behind. As you blow out the candle ask whatever deity/power you believe in to help protect your friend and let your intentions come to fruition. Make sure to thank your deities afterwards. This spell takes a lot of energy so be sure to rest when you’re done.
