Incubi – Sleep Demons and Sex Spirits.
An incubus is a demon in male form who, according to mythological and legendary traditions, lies upon sleeping women in order to engage in sexual activity with them. Belief in and the debate around incubi began early in the Christian tradition. St Augustine of Hippo wrote of the demon, going so far as to state there are “too many accounts to deny.” Both Augustine and King James stated in their writings that the neither the incubus or succubus could produce demon seed themselves. That is to say that they could not beget offspring of their own being, but instead steal seed from humans, dead or alive, and impregnate living women. This was done in various ways, including the theft of semen from a living or recently deceased corpse. The corpse would have to be fresh, as the semen would go cold and be unusable. A way for the incubus to get around this problem would be to inhabit the corpse itself, rise from the dead, to lie with its female victims, putting a child in their womb.
It is said that one can identify an incubus by its unusually large and cold penis. The children of the incubus/succubus are cambion, the unnatural halfbreed of the earthly and unearthly. While human, made with human seed, they are bestowed with supernatural powers. Merlin was said to be a cambion, the reason behind his great magical abilities. It was not unheard of for folks in the community to be accused of being cambion, especially if the pregnancy itself was unexplained. Within the Maleus Malificarum, the Hammer of Witches, there are instructions to combat the effects of an incubus on its victims. Exorcism is one of the five ways stated, the others being Sacremental Confession, the Sign of the Cross, recital of the Angelic Salutation, or the moving of the afflicted to a different location. However, the franciscan friar Ludovico Maria Sinistrari wrote that the incubi “do not obey exorcists, have no dread of exorcisms, show no reverence for holy things, at the approach of which they are not in the least overawed.” It would appear that to some, we are defenseless against the spirit.
The incubus, along with the succubus, are an ancient evil, seen in various cultures globally. The alp of German mythology is something akin to a vampiric incubus. The trauco in provincial Chilean folklore is a hideous deformed creature of small stature who lulls nubile young women to seduces them in a dream state. A lidérc is a satanic lover who flies at night in Hungarian legend. Brazil, South Africa and Sweden all have their own variations, as well as the near and far east. The demonic lover is a spirit that has haunted man and woman alike as far back as our written stories. It bares a resemblance to the more recently understood phenomena of sleep paralysis, especially the succubus, with the hag laying atop the male victim. Many point to this as an example of early man attempting to explain away sleep paralysis and nightmares.

Animism.
Animism (from Latin anima, “breath, spirit, life”) is the worldview that non-human entities, such as animals, plants, and inanimate objects, possess a Spiritual Essence. In a future state this Soul or Spirit would exist as part of an Immaterial Soul. The Spirit, therefore, was thought to be Universal.
Animism is used in the anthropology of religion as a term for the belief system of some indigenous tribal people, especially prior to the development of organized religion. Although each culture has its own different mythologies and rituals, “Animism” is said to describe the most common, foundational thread of indigenous peoples’ “Spiritual” or “Supernatural” perspectives. The Animistic perspective is so fundamental, mundane, everyday and taken-for-granted that most Animistic indigenous people do not even have a word in their languages that corresponds to it.
Animism encompasses the belief that there is no separation between the Spiritual and Physical (or Material) World, and Souls or Spirits exist, not only in humans, but also in some other animals, plants, rocks, geographic features such as mountains or rivers, or other entities of the natural environment, including thunder, wind, and shadows. Animism thus rejects Cartesian Dualism. Animism may further attribute Souls to abstract concepts such as words, true names, or metaphors in Mythology.

A Metaphysical Map of Consciousness/Reality.
In this Integral Mandala we see the four ontoclines or gradations of Reality, as the four arms of the Mandala. Each of these correspond in a generic way to one of the primary parameters of Consciousness and Reality. These four themselves come from a Center, representing the Divine or Supreme or Absolute Reality, and this Center is itself made up of four as well as three levels. The four ontoclines are as follows:
Left – Self and Non-Self from True Self / “I” to Non-Self / “This” / Phenomena (and vice versa) – representing the Monadology (or pluratity and unity) of Selves. This pertains to the Nature of the Knowing Self (especially as elaborated in Eastern Philosophy). With Liberation (moksha, Enlightenment) in one realises one already is the Absolute (Atman-Brahman).
Bottom – The “Vertical” Physical-Spiritual Axis – from Transcendent Spiritual Mind down to Physical Matter (and vice-versa) – representing the Hierarchy (Great Chain of Being) of Octaves of Existence. This “Vertical” Axis or Planes of Existence (in which one ascends to the Absolute) corresponds to the various subtle and gross Universes and ocatves as described through Esotericism and Occultism with their understanding of the Nature of gross and subtle Realities, and to the ascent of Consciousness through levels of Existence.
Right – The “Horizontal” Inner-Outer Axis represents the contrast between the Innermost (Inner Light, Divine Soul) and Outermost (most external) Being – representing the Psychological Polarity of Being. The “Horizontal” Inner-Outer Axis corresponds to Psychology and Mysticism which addresses the depths of the being, and also on a more superficial level to the Arts with its dicotomy of Mythos and Logos, Imagination and Reason, and to depth and transpersonal psychology.
Top – The Universal-Individual-Atomistic Axis – From Universal Whole to “Atomistic” “Point” (and vice versa) constitutes the Holarchic arrangement of Systems. This “Concentric” Universal-Individual Axis corresponds, on the physical level, to Science especially the systems sciences and natural and applied sciences, also the social sciences in part. On the supraphysical it becomes the domain of Esotericism, but the basic principles of interaction, ecology, system dynamics, chaos theory, and so on. The overall Reality is the (esoteric) science of Cosmecology, which includes the experiential approach of Astrognosis.
All the ontoclines together represent the Spiritual Path; not literalist or exoteric religion, but Yoga, Sadhana, and Esoteric (Mystical) Religion; the Essense of Self-Transformation.
💫 The Main Signs of a Spiritual Awakening 💫
The majority of people are not fully aware of how truly difficult and confusing a spiritual awakening can be. It is not beautiful in the beginning.. As with all transformations, the first steps deal with endings and destruction. We are constantly lead to experience challenges, changes, and forces of nature that completely strip apart our attachments to the material world without even realizing it is happening. Every time our ego fights back, we are met with karmic patterns of the lesson the universe, or higher power, is attempting to teach us. It is important to remember that we are souls inhabiting human bodies.
Our energy is ever lasting but this material world we know is not promised a forever. We are constantly working towards spiritual growth and evolution. A spiritual awakening occurs when you realize there is more to life than earthly desires. There is more to us than our attachments, our ego, and our material possessions. Once you realize this, things begin to change, as you will perceive the world in an entirely different way than you did before. At first, you will feel overwhelmed and confused. A lot of people remain in the beginning phases of a spiritual awakening out of fear. Listed below are the major signs you are experiencing an awakening of the soul. The first sign listed is typically the first experience you will have but everything else will not necessarily come to you in any particular order.
1. Karmic Patterns, Meaningful Coincidences, Number Sequences, Repetitive Dreams, Symbols or Signs ✨
The very first thing a person experiences is some form of cosmic pattern or sequence. You will “feel” as though you are being targeted for some sort of message. Whatever repetitive situation you are experiencing serves as your main lesson at the time and you must pay attention to what is happening to you while you witness the signs. This can come in the form of similar toxic relationships or engaging with the same negative people one after another, seeing the same numbers on a clock or other object often (1:11, 1:23, etc), having the same dream frequently, seeing animals, objects, or hearing the same phrases or words over and over again.
2. Realization of the Ego, Acknowledging Mistakes, Confronting Your Personal Demons, Toxic Habits, and Wrongdoings ✨
This is likely one of the most challenging phases to overcome – the ego itself. Often, when we know we have done something wrong, we will strive to ignore it or refuse to take accountability altogether. When going through an awakening, you will feel the urge to fix your mistakes and grant closure to those you have harmed in any way. You will feel genuine remorse for your wrongdoings and look to confront the people you have hurt in order to provide them with closure and to provide yourself with growth. You will feel called to apologize, make amends, and move along. Doing this will allow you to let go of the burdens and toxic habits holding you down. Whether or not these people choose to forgive you is up to them and them alone, but it is the fact that you owned up to your toxicity that matters. This is you letting go of your ego and allowing your spirit to take over you. Your “true” self is taking form now.
3. New Perspective, Epiphanies, Altered Outlook ✨
As you begin to see the world, and yourself, in a different light, everything becomes brand new to you. Everything will seem much more vivid, lively, and detailed. You will find yourself paying attention to things you never would have given a second glance before your awakening. You will find interests in new topics, projects, people, and places you never thought to engage in. Those around you will be shocked at your change in character – with some people encouraging and congratulating your transition, while others will be envious and spiteful of you. Let the behavior of others serve as a message to you about who they are.
4. Relationship Changes, Disconnection With Society, Endings ✨
One of the very first experiences you will through in a spiritual awakening is the realization that the personified ego projected from each individual is not a true reflection of who they are.. Once you realize this for yourself, you will begin to see the toxicity and the attachments other people possess – influencing you to disconnect from them if you feel they do not carry the same vibration as you. How they react to your distance and your separation from them shows you who they truly are inside and you will often find that your assumptions about them were correct. You will realize just how wrong certain people were for you and what lessons they were called to teach you through their behaviors. This is your intuition and your soul opening up and expanding. Your soul is no longer being weighed down by human egotism – instead it is moving along.
5. Enhanced Intuition, Empathy, and Compassion ✨
Your dreams will begin to present you with predictions and future happenings. Your heart and mind will start to tell you about certain people, places, and situations as though your heart and mind know things before they should. You will be able to “feel” or sense the emotions of others before you even see them or speak a word to them. You will feel much more connected to nature, to earth, and to humanity. Its need for healing and light becomes your focus. There is no longer a separation between you and others, as your ego is now fading or completely gone – you will feel as though you are one with every living thing.
6. Decreased / Lacking Fear of Death ✨
As you go through the transition of your awakening, you will not see death as the end for you. You will have come to realize that death is just the beginning, as energy can neither be created nor destroyed. You know your soul will stand the tests of Father Time and cycle through the universe again and again in different forms. You will realize that everyone you have lost is not truly gone – they are with you forever and you are forever with them.. floating through this universe and its energies for eternity.
7. Increased Self-Care, Routines, and Lifestyle Changes, Appreciation for the Physical Body ✨
Though your attachment to your human form will decrease, you know it is still important to take care of the body you are holding. You will go through diet changes, improved skin care and health care routines, and you will appreciate and cherish the body you inhabit for all that it is. The flaws you once saw will rarely hold importance to you now. You know that what truly matters is what is on the inside and that anyone who truly cares for you will not pay attention to your physical appearance. You will be grateful to experience a new perception of life.
8. Positive Relationship with Self and Others ✨
As you grow and prosper, you will engage with like-minded individuals who serve to continue expanding and evolving with you instead of working against you. This does not mean you will be completely free from toxic people; being empathetic and spiritually involved, you will constantly attract individuals who want to suck out your energy and light. The positive relationships in your life will help protect you from negative people and keep you from straying away from your spiritual journey.
9. Tests, Challenges, Delays ✨
To ensure you are on the correct path, the universe, or the higher power, will constantly produce tests for you to ace. These tests can come in the form of ex friends or lovers resurfacing, sudden disappointments or setbacks, as well as losses, separations, or mental / emotional attacks that challenge your body and soul. As you overcome these issues, you will grow stronger, wiser, and more resilient to the negativity and evil of the world.
10. Creativity, Attraction to Art, Metaphysics, and Ancient Practices
✨
You will feel inclined to express the energies, emotions, and lessons you are receiving through creative outlets such as drawing, painting, writing, crafting, singing, dancing, etc. Creativity is one of the most unique and expressive ways to share your voice and your passions with the world, after all. You will also feel drawn to the energies that earth has to offer – through its plants, flowers, crystals, fossils, celestial bodies, and elements. This may lead you to indulge in divination tools, astrology, meditation, and spiritual healing through metaphysical means. These methods are only useful to your spiritual body – be sure to continue relying on the proper medicine and healing needed for your physical body, as well.

The Power of Chanting Om.
Om has powerful meaning and significance. The ancient mantra or vibration traditionally chanted at the at the beginning and end of a yoga, helps foster a deeper connection to the practise than can be achieved with rhythmic breathing and physical postures. Om is considered sacred and resonates a high spiritual and creative energy. Chanting Om is said to create a sense of harmony and unity of the mind, body and soul. Om is believed to represent the basic sound of the Universe: the cosmic vibration that gives birth to all other sounds.
When pronounced correctly, the sanskrit word Om it is actually A-U-M and actually consists of four syllables:
A – The stretched-out A sound begins at the back of your throat and as it is stretched out, you will begin to sense your chest and solar plexus vibrating.
U – The stretched out “oo” sound will gradually resonate along your upper palate, creating vibrations in your throat.
M – The prolonged “mmmm” sound. The last syllable is created via the transition from the “M” to the deep silence of the Infinite. The first three states syllables equate to the conscious, sub-conscious and unconscious states of the mind. Encompassing the divine energy (Shakti), these three letters symbolise the basis of:
1) creation,
2) preservation
3) liberation.According to yoga, Samkya and other scriptures, the letters of Om correspond to three gunas (principals of nature):
A = tamas, signifying darkness, inertia and ignorance (waking state)
U = rajas, signifying passion, activity and dynamism (dream state)
M = sattva, signifying purity, truth and light (state of deep sleep)The natural humming energy of Om exists all around us. Om vibrates at the frequency of 432 Hz, which is the same frequency as everything in nature. Keep in mind that everything in the entire universe is actually pulsating and vibrating. Chanting Om connects us to all that is living, from beings, to nature, to the universe. Part of the sacred scriptures of most Hindi traditions, the Om mantra is referred to as being the same as the supreme consciousness.
